Is my bank login safe?

You enter your bank username and password in Plaid's window, not ours. Plaid passes Clearday a read-only access token, and your credentials never reach Clearday's servers.

We encrypt that token at rest with AES-256-GCM using a key unique to your account. You can disconnect a bank at any time.

Can Clearday move my money?

No. The bank connection is read-only. Clearday can see balances and transactions. It cannot transfer, pay, withdraw or open anything. It is not a bank and holds no money.

How is “clear to spend” calculated?

Clearday starts with the cash in the accounts you spend from. From that it subtracts everything already committed between today and your next paycheck: bills and subscriptions, credit card statements and card spending not yet billed, loan payments, money set aside for goals, and a buffer you choose.

What is left is the total you have until payday. Clearday divides it by the days until then, today included, and rounds down to the cent. That daily figure is clear to spend today.

It also checks every day before payday, not just the last one. When a bill or statement is due before the paycheck arrives, the daily figure is held to what the tightest of those days allows, so spending it each day never takes checking below your buffer. Each line of the subtraction is shown, so you can check the arithmetic yourself.

What does the AI see, and can it change things?

Clearday AI reads the same accounts, transactions, bills and loans you see in the app. Names are tokenized before anything is sent to the model, and every figure in its answers is computed from your data by code and checked before it is shown to you.

It can propose changes, such as recategorizing transactions, setting a loan's due date, or creating a rule, goal or bill. Nothing changes until you approve that specific change, and you can undo it afterwards. It cannot move money.

Which banks work?

Thousands of US banks and credit unions through Plaid. If yours is not supported, or you would rather not link it, you can add the account by hand and update its balance yourself.

Why is my number negative?

A negative number means more is committed before your next paycheck than you have in cash today. It is not an error and it is not a judgment. It is an early warning, usually days before an account would actually run short.

Clearday shows which bills and statements push it below zero, so you can decide what to move, pause or cover before a payment bounces.

Can I use it without linking a bank?

Yes. Add accounts, balances, bills and loans by hand, or import a statement file. Everything that works from linked data also works from data you enter.

How do I cancel?

From Settings, any time. The trial lasts 14 days and needs no card, so there is nothing to cancel if you never subscribe.

When a subscription ends, your data stays viewable. Bank syncing and the assistant pause until you subscribe again.

Is this financial advice?

No. Clearday is an educational tool. It shows arithmetic on your own data and general guidance. It is not a registered investment adviser, a broker, a tax preparer or a CPA, and it does not know everything about your situation. For decisions with real consequences, talk to a qualified professional.

How do I delete my data?

In Settings you can export everything as a file and delete your account. Deleting removes your financial data and disconnects your banks. We never sell your data.
